Privacy notice

This notice covers hawthorndata.com and the assessment form on it. Short version: we collect what you type into the form so we can reply to you, we don't sell it, and we don't pass it to a buyer without your permission.

What we collect

• What you tell us in the form: your name, email address and role; your company's name and website; and your answers about the company and its records, including any notes you add.
• How you found the form: the page you submitted from and, if the link you followed had them, standard campaign labels (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term). We use these only to count which pages and campaigns bring in requests.
• Technical details: your browser's user agent and the country Cloudflare reports for the request. To slow down spam, we also keep a daily counter keyed to a one-way hash of your IP address. We don't store the IP address itself.

We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or cross-site identifiers. Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or local storage.

What we don't want

Please don't send us your company's records, exports, passwords or any personal information about your customers or staff. The assessment only needs a description.

How we use it

• To reply to your request and discuss a possible licensing deal.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages and campaigns lead to requests.

We only share your company's name or your details with a prospective buyer after you tell us to. We never sell or rent them, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

Who processes it

• Cloudflare hosts the site, stores form submissions in its D1 database, runs cookie-free analytics and forwards email sent to info@hawthorndata.com.
• Amazon Web Services (SES) delivers the notification email that tells us a new request has arrived.

How long we keep it

We keep assessment requests for 24 months after you submit them, then delete them automatically. If we end up working together, we'll keep what the deal needs under the terms we agree. The anti-spam counters are deleted after a day.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@hawthorndata.com. We'll act on it within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how we handle this information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't start using what you've already given us in a new way without asking.
